Courtney Smith: Rapid City, South Dakota; Four generations of family pioneer spirit has fostered the beliefs of integrity, determination and an unmatched passion for rodeo into Courtney Smith and this is why she is your Miss Rodeo South Dakota 2009. A proud South Dakota cowgirl, Courtney Smith, is the 22-year old daughter of Tom and Deanna Smith of Rapid City. She recently graduated from South Dakota State University with a degree in Mass Communication and Business. Her future plans include obtaining a Masters in Public Relations, with hopes of someday working for the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. In college, Courtney was an active member of the South Dakota State University Varsity Equestrian Team, Journalism Club, Collegiate 4-H, and a photographer for the SDSU Collegian newspaper.
